Hilary 2nd October 2020

It is hard to believe that someone so full of life has gone at such a tragically young age. Many will have said that Fiona was kind, fun, and brilliant with dogs, but this is my abiding memory: For a few days around my husband's funeral I had put my two greyhounds in the wonderful Waggtails kennels so that they would not be upset by the comings and goings. It so happened that the day of the funeral was also the male dog's birthday. As we gathered outside the crematorium, Fiona came up to me and said, 'We've sung Happy Birthday to Darius.' She had such an instinct for absolutely the right thing to say, raising a smile in the midst of sorrow. I have other much happier memories, but that has always remained in my mind. She will be terribly missed.
